Our take
The Mixtrack Platinum FX is a solid upgrade for beginner DJs. The illuminated jog wheels look great in dark clubs, and the pitch faders are responsive. I like the auto BPM feature—it saves time on beatmatching. The built-in mixer with mic input is convenient for small gigs. However, the 24-bit/44.1kHz audio quality is adequate but not studio-grade. The controller feels sturdy, but the plastic construction is noticeable. Software integration is seamless with Serato DJ Lite included. For the price, it's a capable controller, but experienced DJs might want more outputs and better build. The phono input is a nice touch for turntablists.
